I do the one-drawing-a-day thing too, although on paper. & they're not usually so polished. & I do it at the end of the day as opposed to the morning. But it's good to 'grease the wheels'.
I think the amount of polish has a lot to do with media. It's easy to get polish in vectors, harder to make it sketchy. Also, the polish is part of the reason for the exercise. I'm doing my damnedest to get the best result I can in a half hour timeframe. Really, I suppose you could call it an exercise in polish. Or not.
